Wiring past the seatbelt light if you have 4 points
ok, it was totally quick and easy, but I'll post it anyway.
I have 4 point race harnesses and the seat belt light stays on on the dash when I use them because obviously, the factory belt isn't fastened.
The fix is simple, underneath, running along the seatbottom, theres a a wire going to the seat belt release. Conveniently, there's also a plug in the middle of it, disconnect the plug in the middle of the wire, and on the side of the wire leading to the car, only 2 connections in the plug, tie them together and the seat belt light goes out cuz it thinks its fastened.
I used a 1/2" piece of wire stripped on both ends, put it in both sides of the plug to shunt the connector and plugged them back together just to keep it tidy under the seat.
Also this only has to be done on the drivers side, there's no sensor on the passenger's seat.
no more annoying little red light on the dash.
