Default Wiring Harness

i'm currently in the process of re-wiring my ecu, and ran into a few problems. on one of the harnesses (of the three), there are some wires that are the same color but are leads for different things. for example, there are two blue wires - one for ACC power, and one for the speedo signal. the wiring diagram just labels both as "blue", but on the actual wires coming out of the car, one of the blue wires has one silver ring around it, and the other blue wire has two silver rings around it. does anyone know which wires are which? (it is also the case with two red wires.) any help would be appreciated! thanks.

I'm not sure which wiring diagram you are using, but it is unlikely that it will have two wires going to two different things simply labelled "blue". For example the speed sensor wire in the Helm manual is labelled "BLU/WHT". The only "BLU" wire is one going from the CPU to the ECM (in that wire cluster). All wires will be labelled a solid color (not many of these) or a combination color A/color B. "A" being the color of the base wire and "B" being the striping. Maybe there's something wrong with the wiring diagram you're using, the harness you got or the way you are reading the diagram or the wire itself. In any case, if you don't have the dedicated Helm Electrical manual for this car, I would advise you get one. Even the main Helm service manual is very "sketchy" in its descriptions.

I see you have double posted this in another forum, so I'm going to close this one.
