Will AP2 DIFFERENTIAL FIT ON AP1

Billman as long as you're on here.....I swapped out an ap1 for an ap2 diff. I also swapped out the matching prop shaft for the new dif. I noticed that not only are the flanges different, but the entire prop shaft was redesigned. Is the prop shaft matched and balanced to the diff at the factory? Are you better off swapping both?
I'm assuming the larger flange and propshaft redesign is to take stress off the front of the diff housing?

I could have sent you the trans flange but, I just sent it to someone else You can buy a new one from Honda for about $35.00
