Default Will an aftermarket clutch cure the decel buzz?

The Honda dealership is giving me a hard time as I suspected they would about the buzz under deceleration, so from reading the TSB, all Honda does is replace the clutch disc to cure it. If I upgrade the clutch disc and pressure plate to an ACT or Clutchmasters, can I expect the same results...?

Go with the OEM disk and ACT PP.

Good suggestion as far as the components go, but it doesn't answer my question. If I go to an aftermarket clutch, can I expect the buzz under deceleration to disappear...? Because apparently it's an issue with the clutch design....

Yep, an aftermarket clutch will take away the clutch buzz problem. The buzzing is actually caused by the springs in the current friction disc. The buzzing is not detrimental to performance, but still annoying nonetheless. You take the friction disc out, you take the problem out.

OEM replacement disks have been updated. So if you buy a replacement disk for a MY01, you will get the updated disk.

My original disc was replaced under warranty for the rattle and the new, updated, one also began to rattle after a few thousand miles.

Yeah I have heard this as well...I guess it just makes more sense to go with an aftermarket clutch....This is why the servce manager at my dealership is giving me a hard time on the TSB..."the buzz usually comes back, so why do you want us to fix it...?" well because you should fix it...geez people at Honda are cocks when it comes to minor stuff.

Then, how much did it cost to replace those?

As much as you don't want to hear this many after market clutches will still make the buzzing noise. The best thing to do would be start a poll and ask people about the different clutches you are looking at to see if they have the buzzing on there setup. I have a CM Stage 3 Carbon/Kevlar clutch and a Spoon Flywheel and I still have the buzzing issue. The car drives 100 times better so I just deal with the noise or keep out of that rpm range. Hope that helps.
