Wideband install
Hey all, I'm just curious if there is any way to remove the secondary O2 sensor (any way to wire it up?) so that it will not throw a CEL. I would like to put my wideband O2 sensor in the secondary O2 sensor bung on my test pipe.

I figure if the secondary O2 sensor is already useless (backed out of exhaust flow) then why not use it's bung for the wideband. It would be cheaper and easier as well. I figure I would ask anyway before I go get another bung welded on.

its really just one less o2 sensor you have to worry about stripping.

Do what I did and buy a PLX - it replaces the primary o2 sensor but it has a 0-1 v signal wire which you can hook into the ECU, instead of the stock one. The PLX sends a simulated narrowband signal to the ECU, to the car actually knows no different.
I'd go so far to say that mine was smoother with it in place.
Click on my S/C link for more info.
Or you can put in a fixed resistor into the secondary sensor circuit and just unplug the sensor, and put your WB in there.

Just got back from a local welder, estimate of $80 and he said he wouldn't do it after all because the bung isn't stainless....
