Default Why are shops scared of s2k diffs?

My differential recently blew and I really rather get it rebuilt but every shop I call turn me away like they are scared of a s2k diff in particular, is there a reason for this???

not sure on why but its a good thing they are keeping it honest with you instead of trying to do something they know they aren't capable of. i think most people will tell you to deal with s2kpuddydad on here anyways.

Depending on how bad its blown, it can cost 3 times what a good used dif would cost.

Dif building is a task best left to someone who does very very many of them.

+1 to both answers. either get a used diff and hope its good and will last. or get yours rebuilt with stronger gears from puddy.
