Default why not hitting vtec is bad

so last week my CEL in the lude came on and it figured out that it was the egr valve, i talked to a couple guys and they said, well you can take it off and try to clean it out, but you prolly got to buy a new one which is about $200. i asked if it was bad for the engine to run it and they said the only bad thing is it would pollute a little more, other that that its fine.

so i came up with the idea well lets try seafoam first not wanting to spend unneeded money.....nothing still on. ok well if is part of the exhaust what if i get it really hot and it blows hard it could blow any gunk out. so i took it out found some open road, hit vtec in first up hrough second up to near the top of third. slowed back down did it again, again, again, let it do a little cool down, turned it off back on, and the light has been off for two weeks, so i guess it did it?

so i guess that every once in a while the car just needs to be run the way it was made to.

if any one has any objections let me know, or if i have done something horrible and my car is bout to splode let me know but she runs perfectly and she seems happy that i finally gave her a workout instead of the s, i think she was a little jealous...

An Italian tuneup! Every car needs one of these occasionally esp. if you otherwise baby a thoroughbred.

Always good to bring it to the top of the revs to clean out most of the bulid up of carbon in the exhaust....

cruising at low revs will build up carbon. im sure the seafoam was what did the trick. high revs/wot dont engage the egr system anyways

Its not the case even with older cars (well depending on milage) if you get a car from an older couple that has a ton of miles and has been driven gingerly since new and then you jump on it...... BOOM!!!!

Ask me how I know
