The HVAC has it's own self diagnostic mode and a list of accompanying DTC's. It may be a good place to start. It is all in the Helms.

Good luck.

You could be low on coolant....

Or, the control valve is hitting the black shield between the header and the battery.

What setting is the distribution knob in? If you are on defrost, the A/C will come on too.

As Bill suggests, check the coolant level and report back.

You might have air in the system.

Try using that bleed valve to the left of the throttle body or
try draining your coolant system , refill it with the heater in the hot position.
Good luck.

Draining & refilling in the hot position WILL NOT work, and you'll make it worse. This is one of the most difficult systems to get the air out of.

Just check the RADIATOR level when it's cold, make sure it's full.

CK that valve too

Yes, that is they way it should be done. But it does not always get the air out. Even following this procedure, the car can still go down the road with air, and overheat 20 minutes later. I've seen it first hand.

Pehaps this will be my next write up

, ok good to know.

After my last drain and refill by a garage ( not sure how they did it )
I had air in my system and a cold heater. I just left it in the hot position for about a week and it sorted itself out. Checking and topping up header before and after each journey.

You're lucky....last guy I knew who drove around with cold heat overheated really bad and blew a hose. You must have been barely on the safe side
