Default why are my brakes clicking?

The brakes on my passenger side is starting to make a clicking noise during light breaking. Seems like it only happens when the rotors and brakes are cold. When they heat up the brakes squeal instead, which is normal. At first I thought it was my axle but noticed the noise only comes when I tap the brakes. Im a little annoyed by it because I'm wondering of its a defect.

I grabbed the tires and shook them but I don't feel any play. The axle bolts are retorqued by the prior owner. I can see different strike marks. The click is louder than an axle click compared to my last s2000.

So this is on the rear?

Did you jack up the car, and shake from the top and bottom of the wheel?

I actually can't confirm if its coming from the rear or the front. But yes at 12 and 6 o'clock. I'm assuming it's the brakes and only happen when I lightly touch the peddle. I have to be going less than 5mph. Like waiting in line at McDonalds and pulling up slowly to the window. It could happen multiple times under light braking if I stop and go. I took everything out of the trunk to see if something was possibly shifting. After I drive the car for a while until my brakes begin to squeal, I know they are hot. The clicking/clunking goes away and a squeal and screech takes over. The brakes don't make noise when I'm driving, so they are not dragging

No, that sounds like the s2000 has a limp! Sounds like when you let a car sit and the brakes stick to the rotors and breaking it loose for the first time or a book left in the trunk and sliding off the ledge during braking.
