Thats crazy that they didnt have it. A friend of mine works in parts dept at the local GM dealership and they carry that stuff as it is standard tranny fluid for some of their trucks. He kinda gave me an awkward look when I told him I wanted it for my s2000 tho. lol

Tell 'em you got a can of Copenhagen in your back pocket and you left you Chevy truck with the NV1500 tranny at home.
I just changed to LE607 and GMSFM last night...so far so good. Feels like new MT-90 to me..

The Chevy dealer in downtown Nashville looked at me like I was retarded, then I went to some po-dunk place that barely had a dealership and the guy had 4 quarts of it.. needless to say I bought all 4 and told him to reorder more for me down the road. I love this stuff, makes my car shift like butta.
A friend of mine said that works at a shop that works on Honda's said that the only downfall he knew was that when one of their buddies that races in the GT cup now in an 04 Viper... ran it in his civic Si and noticed maybe a slight slowing down of the tranny from the GM stuff but that was only on a track, street driving you'll never notice anything really. It gets a from me.

Is THIS the same stuff as GMSFM?
Part 10-4005
88900332 General use MTF
Part 10-4014
88900399 Syncromesh FM (for NV1500 trannies)
Semi-synthetic
And that GM part no 123779916 is also correct.

Roadrage, after reading your old posts I thought you hated the oil since it was for truck trannies. What made you think of trying this ?
I also know that its formulation has changed over the years, and the current version has esters in addition to the petroleum base stocks. So it likely will give a bit longer service. I still think MTL has the longevity advantage.
Why have I "changed"? Mostly out of respect for Gernby, and the fact that service life is irrelevant to me, since I drive my S2000 only 2.5-3K miles a year.
I also have an insatiable appetite for knowledge and the truth, so if Gernby says this stuff is da bomb, I will invest the sweat equity and find out.

Don't recall ever saying that I hated it - I am sure I posted the facts and info I knew about it, as I always do. If you can find an RR post that says GMSFM sux, please do so.

On the other hand, 500 miles and im getting the grind again after changing Honda MTF. Not often, I just got one so far and its not critical at the moment. But I'm really interested on how the tests go with this GMFM go. If its the magic in the bottle I sure will be one of the first to switch.
