I have heard reports of VTEC engaging as high as 7K in the mountains due to the low atmospheric pressure.

However, I don't know if that's normal for ALL S2000's at that altitude - you'd best ask other owners in your area.
Yes it is normal for all S2000's at this altitude(5280) for VTEC to engage at 6300

Whew! I thought there was something wrong when I went on an Alpine tour up to about 9000ft.

When I got back down to Germany on the Autobahn VTEC still kicked in later than normal, so I guess there's a bit of time delay before it changes the engagement point.

Denver/Lakewood are both 5,000+ ft in elevation from sea level. It's definitely the altitude that's causing him to engage vtec higher in the rpm band.

The same thing happens when I go to our nearby mountain range and climb from 1,000 to 6,000+ feet in elevation.
I agree, I took my car last weekend to high altitude for the first time and when we reached the highest point of 8,443 feet VTEC engagement point varied from 6,300-6,600. When I came back down to normal level, VTEC was back to engaging as normal.
