Why does my clutch grab at the very top?

Your clutch is almost gone man, it will start slipping soon, maybe couple of thousand miles
It doesn't slip AT ALL. It runs very strong. I'm makin my dad's corolla my daily driver, and am only going to drive the S on the weekends iA.
That should give me some time to save up for a clutch kit....

yeah if it's grabbing all the way at the top she's about gone. mine was doing the same thing, never slipped once, when i replaced it (at about 135k, mind you.) the disc was almost completely gone, several of the rivet heads had been polished nicely
the S2K's clutch isn't really meant to be adjusted, from what i understand.

Mine engadges right close to the top as well. Been like that since I bought it with 67K miles. Now has almost 116k miles on it and does the same thing with no clutch slip or anything. Don't think that it means the clutch is on it's way out. I like not needing the push the clutch in much to shift makes it easier to do nice quick shifts.
Don't see why everyone would think the clutch is going out unless I am missing something here but seems like I have the same thing and been like that for over 40k miles.

I just don't feel comfortable with it grabbing all the way up top, that's all.

Adjust your pedal...
get underneath the dash...where the pedal is, there is a rod. that rod has a nut on it.. loosen the nut, i think its a 12 or 14mm...just loosen it...then grab the rod with a pair of plyers and turn the rod...it may be to the left or right... can't remember... but only one full turn. this will push the engagement closer to the floor...tighten the nut and your good to go...

Check the fluid level. When mine started doing this, it was because the master cylinder was gone. Fluid was leaking, very slowly, out onto the drivers side carpet and I didn't even realize. New clutch master cylinder and it's perfect again.
As has been said, you can adjust it though and it's really easy to do.
