Why does this happen?
Battery terminal, I have seen this for some time now, i clean it and it comes back fairly quick... has never happened before...
on a side note (don't know if it has anything to do with it or not) on some cold start mornings, the steering feels weird, like it pulls by it self to the sides when ever i try to turn the steering wheel.. once the car warms up doesn't do it again

corrosin on the battery post/s. it's kinda like rust of the electric kind. buy some battery post protectant in a spray can from any parts store.
clean off all the corrosin and spray on the protectant.

Hydrogen gas being vented by the battery combining with moisture in the air causes the corrosion. Wearing gloves use small wire brush and appropriate terminal cleaner (water/baking soda mix will work) to clean, then spray a battery protector and sealer on the terminals.

Did anyone actually look at the picture? Yes it is corrosion, but the why is because it was done by a blind monkey. You need a new strap, or a replacement terminal and cut the end off when the corrosion stops.

Seeing that you have an amp power wire bolted to the existing terminal I would suggest getting a new one made for bolting the power wire to. As well as cleaning and protecting the terminal while you're at it.

Oh and btw, you'd be surprised how badass CLR cleans up battery posts. Then you spray on protectant and it looks new.
I have the same issue. Can I use a sponge?
BTW - I've always been scared of electrocution. Will I get shocked if I touch it?
