Default Why do S2000 ECUs' (or atleast mine) have to be reset frequently

Every time my engine starts bogging down I have to reset the ECU. When I reset it the car runs pretty smooth and doesn't bog down when let out the clutch from a stop to get going. But then after 2 weeks or so the bogging and sluggishness begins to return again. What happen with Honda why didn't they didn't make the S2k with a smarter ECU my blackberry could the engine better lol.? Also I heard 2003 ecu run better is this true? I have a 2000 ap1.

It sounds to me like there is a component that is out of spec and the computer cant adjust for (2 weeks)

And yes, your blackberry could run it better. Think about how far computers have come since 00

It is true the 2000 ECU is not the best (I switched to a Mugen a long time ago) but there should be no reason for a regular reset. I suggest you clean the TB, EGR system, and insure a clean air filter before you take any other action. Between that and sometimes some issues in spring and late fall when gas formulations are changing you should be OK with that ECU.

Agreed. This has nothing to do with the ecu. Start checking codes.

Yea I did the valve adjustment spark plugs at around about 10,000 miles ago. those really helped out because after wards the car felt like it had bit more torque and didn't bog down when the rpms fall or going from a stop.

I did the map whack and zip tied it.

I did my valve adjustment myslef. I put in NGK Laser Iridium then switched to NGK Iridium IX because they were performance plugs. This has been happening every since I got the car about a year ago.
