Its interesting on this oil consumption thing. I've had my 02 for a few months now, I changed the oil the day I got it. I put 3500 miles on it and there is no oil loss. Zero. Also, the oil is clean as a whistle. It has only 12K miles on it now so maybe that is the difference? I drive it moderately hard.

I''ll take a look at the plugs before I put it away in October/November.

Every car is different...My 06 has 55k miles and has never burned a drop of oil.

I must say imho that a car that burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles in normal street driving would cause me concern and I would be investigating the cause. That seem like an awful lot of oil getting into the cylinders somehow.

1Q burn per 1000 is a ton of usage, and would be considered excessive even for an F20. It is the threshold at which Honda deemed tearing the engine down for inspection and recon.

That said, how hard you drive the car will cause some fluctuation. Increased oil temps/cook off as well as oil choice ie Mobil 1 and time in vtec could cause you to see some usage go up. F22 generally burn 50%-100% less oil then the older non deck plate honed F20 in my experience and pretty consistent report averages on this site. Higher rpm engine always tend to use more oil as well.
