funny I got this chirp at low rpm's with my modified AEM intake several times, I have tried several things to eliminate it and the only way that I have been able to silence the noise was to replace the filter that came with the kit with a different filter. I have tried another K&N the stock filter as well as a cool flow one, the cool flow one is the quitest but I can live with the little chirp from the K&N one as I feel that it is better constructed then the cool flow one.

I had the same chirp problem. It's almost like a high-pitched whistle that lasts for about 2-3 seconds as you just start to add gas between gears.
It's either one of two things:
1) The suction of the air through the electric air pump that's more noticable now that the intake is opened up.
2) The suction of air as it enters the filter and changing pitch as it flows through the bends in the intake.
Either way don't worry about it. I was worried about mine and met with someother s2k people and their's all did the same thing.

I wonder if the whistle is just a characteristic of one of the two nozzles that tap into it. It could be that the length and shape of the nozzle going to the valve cover whistles when the air flow is "just so".

I notice mine most when I am puttering through a parking lot. I know that it is coming from the AEM, but any onlookers (coworkers, etc.) probably just think something is wrong with my car (ie. it's a POS).

The 2 piece Injen was part number IS1300 and the 1 piece has the part number IS1305.
So, which is the older of the two Injen intakes? The 1 piece or the 2 piece?
