Thumbs up why am i getting a check engine...

ok so i just installed my 70mm invidia test pipe w/ check engine fix. i installed it yesturday drove around a good amount. today it just came on. i dont have an obd2 right now so i gotta go get one.

i was just wondering if anyone else has had this to them. it also sounds like when i step on it in high rpm it misfires. sounds like a really fast clicking sound. might jus be unburned fuel...

any thoughts?

thanks

I've had 2 Berk TP's with the built-in CEL fix on 2 different S2k's and still got the light after a few days, but then after another few days it went off.. also, when was the last time you changed your oil? When I installed this last TP i needed an oil change and after it was installed the was a bad misfire or hesitation when VTEC kicked in that wasn't there before.. but after i changed the oil it was all good.. Even though it has the fix, it's only about 90-95% effective

and did you disconnect the negative wire on your battery for 15-20 minutes before you started the car with the TP installed?

If I remember correctly the Invidia testpipes do have the CEL fix but you NEED the anti-foulers. They're like $5 from Kragen and they thread into the testpipe. Should work then. Make sure you get the 18mm size and drill it out with a 1/2" bit if necessary.

ok cool so it sounds like nothing major. no i didnt disconnect. i bought the car though about 2 weeks ago its a 2000 with 51000 miles. he said he changed it at 50k i believe.

so the light will turn off by itself after time? or do i need to disconnect the negatives?
