white smoke?
i recently got my s2000 and i noticed that the car is smoking after some startups and/or after engaging on first gear, the car came with a turbo, a sports clutch, and had some mods to the exhaust but not really sure as to what was done to it.. any of you guys might know what could be causing the smoke?

I had the same problem this past week. I had bought an used Greddy turbo, just got it tuned / dyno.....it ran and made power fine, but was starting to have white smoke out of the exhaust. We pulled the intercooler piping on the turbo side and there was oil in the piping. We dropped the turbo off to get rebuilt...

white smoke = coolant
could be the headgasket. definitely do a compression test. is it a stock headgasket or 3mm headgasket? they will have different compression numbers. the 3mm will be lower than stock. all 4 cylinders should be similar in terms of compression numbers, regardless of which headgasket you are running.

Get a compression tester. Pull the spark plugs and screw the tester in place. Have someone start the engine. You want to compare the 1st crank test and the 4th crank test. Should be within 10 psi within each other

White smoke = coolant/water burning maybe. Water/Coolant burning in engine is not good. White smoke is like steam from boiling water.
Check engine oil dipstick. If coolant mixes (large amount) with engine oil, you will see something that looks like 'chocolate milkshake'. But when you see this, it is really bad already.
If you car has recently overheated, it could be blown head gasket. Water/coolant entering via blown head gasket.
IMO, You should limit your drive, I wouldnt drive at all....
