I had a call from 'S2KPuddyDad', maybe later on i might order the parts from him as i'm in the UK and shipping is probably lots and rebuild it myself as i'll have a "spare" unit. Then swap them over as the one i'm gonna replace mine with with be a stock item....

See how the funds go...i have a Scooby and a bike to keep on the road !

Thanks again to all !

Talking

Thought i'd give you guys an update:

Well i swapped over the diff to a 2nd hand one on Friday night, took about 3 1/2 hours but 1/2 hour od that was coffe breaks and getting the last bolt out of the drive shaft...sheared off

Drove it out of my mates garage and i still have the whirring sound...

SO.....i popped into the local Honda dealer and a friendly chap (George) who knows a thing or too about S2000 took it for a test drive for me and he though it was the diff also but he said it's more lightly to be the gearbox

Got the car up on ramps and he got it going in 1st on the ramps with the wheels going round, the noise was quite evident it was from the gearbox resinating down the drive shaft to the diff...but the diff was quiet and smooth.

So maybe if you guys get this problem try the above on a ramp first before getting a diff....

I have to now save up for a 2nd hand gearbox and get the clutch done at the same time....

Will keep you updated !
