Whinning noise when moving in gear
Hey guys whats up, i've been hearing a whining noise whenever the car is in gear either accelerating or deaccelaring, car is an AP2 with 26k miles. what could it be?

How about when your in neutral and the car is coasting? Have you done a diff fluid change?

its hard to pinpoint any noise. it could be coming from the tranny or engine also. i know that all s2k's do have some sort of whine that comes from the engine, under accel or decel. my 03 did it, and so does my 06.
this might be what your hearing, and the reason it fades out after shifting to neutral is because your rpm's drop, and the sound goes away.

if u really want to figure it out, just jack up the rear and put it into gear. Although not recommended, it will help you pinpoint ur sound. I figured out where mine was coming from and it's not going to be cheap Just remember to be careful when ur down there since there are parts rotating.

can the differential go this fast?? it only has 26K miles! never tracked, the engine alomost 100% stock only KN filter, krank valves, testpipe. {ap1 slave (like less than 1k miles on that) }
