whining idle
When i start the car and sit at stop lights the car makes a wierd idle noise at idle and idles around 1.2-1.8 rpms. it sounds like the air is getting squeezed into the engine as if it has a mini turbo charger attached to it.

I need a better description of your "problem". Does your car make the 'mini turbo' sound all the time, or just during the high idle phases?
The S2000 has a secondary air assist pump that kicks on to warm the cats, I suspect this is what you're hearing. When you start the car and it's cold, you'll hear this pump kick on. The car will also idle at a higher RPM to help warm the cats and rest of the engine, 1200-1800 RPM is a normal range for the car to stay in while it's warming up.
If, after reaching three bars on your temp gauge, the car still idles at 1200-1800 RPM then this is not normal.

If it is changing 600 RPMs in a steady up and down motion it could be your MAP sensor.
