Whine in the engine bay - not alternator or pullys

I sprayed lithium grease everywhere... nada.. popped off the belt and bam... no noise... the water pump is the culprit... roughly $100

Yeah I kinda have a similar problem except it's lower down the rev range (basically at idle) then some revs and it disappears?!
