Default Where to install a second coolant temp sensor?

Hi there,

I,ve purchased a water temperature gauge. I want to know what is the best place to install the sensor (M10x1 thread) considering that i want the gauge to read temps as close as possible to stock ECT sensor?
Is there some hole in the cylinder head in wich i could bolt it?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think I've heard of anyone installing another temp sensor. Have you searched? If you can't find anything with search, then you may be blazing new ground for the community...let us know what you discover.

well easy. cut the upper rad hose and install an adapter in between them. This will allow you to hook up the temp sensor probe. Here's a picture of it. Keep in mind this is not the right size but just the idea of what it looks like.

Hi negcamber,

Stock coolant gauge don't work with AEM EMS and i don't want to use the Modifry fix.
I want to check temp with a gauge. I'm going to install an oil temperature gauge also. I will remove the stock oil cooler and install a Setrab air/oil unit.

Maybe i could use one of the holes that come from block to stock oil cooler...

Best of luck...let us know how things turn out in case others would like to do the same in the future.

I'm curious...I have an EMS and am using the Modifry fix...what is your concern with using it?

I'm sure ECT module is a great product but i'm a little bit Old School and i prefer the resolution of an analog gauge.
Anybody knows if i can plug the CT sensor in the block hole where the oil cooler bypass hose is fitted?
