Default Where the heck is all my coolant going!?

So I went to the autozone and picked up a gallon of that 50/50 coolant.

The radiator I have is a Kwoya stainless steel radiator. I put about 90% of it in the radiator, to where I can see the redish liquid resting on the radiator.

the remaining coolant I put in the reserve which went about where the "MAX" lettering is on my 2000.

Let it sit for about 10minutes, check for leaks, there was none. unscrewed the top of the radiator, the coolant was still in place, as well as in the reserve.

I drove about 10miles, drove back home and the reserve was gone. Havent checked the actual radiator because I'd figure it is probably going to be hot as heck.

At every light on take off I would look to see if there was anything leaking (there wasnt) so what could of happened?

Its fine, its going to suck in coolant until it is full. I'm sure there's places in the engine that don't get filled up with coolant all the way until you drive it. Fill up the reservoir again.

Was your coolant low because you were changing it?

it could have been filling up the hoses. you have to squeeze them to get them full and if you didnt then you will see some fluid go away...just top off.

you need to burp the coolant system before driving it to get the proper level of fluid in the system, so what you are seeing is normal if you didn't burp it first. You are lucky some guys experience overheating due to air in the system and that can cause some issues. So expect to keep filling it up until the level stabilizes, it might take a bit more to get to that point.
