So, Slalom,
It's really quite simple if you're willing to do a tiny bit of mod to your mill.
Get a 1/8 inch pipe tap. Coat the threads of the tap with thick grease so the aluminum filings will stick to it. Run it into the hole in the block. It's so close to stock that you can just about hand turn it. Pull the tap back out.
Spin the motor over a couple of revs to blow some oil out the hole. I know, it'll make a bit of a mess, but a little gunk will clean it right up. Maybe hold a rag over the hole while a friend gives the motor a quick spin. If there is a way to keep the motor from actually starting, do that, but really, even if it catches it won't be that much of a problem if you turn it off immediately.
Screw in your 'murican adaptoid thingie and rock on.
Speedy regards,
Jim

Do a Google search for "GReddy Oil Filter Block Adapter" and you'll find plenty of sources. Pricing is over $60.
Believe the GReddy part number is 12002733
" GReddy Oil Filter Block adapters provide an easy way to install oil pressure and oil temperature gauge sensors. Made from billet Aluminum and simple to install this adapter goes between the oil filter and engine block. Greddy Block Adapter contains 3 sensor access holes. (2) M10x0.90 and (1) M12x1.25. Works perfect with Greddy gauges!"

Update: The 1/8" 28 BSP adapters I got from Napa fit perfectly. It came in a set of 2 adapters; one with 1/8" NPT female, 1/8" 28 BSP male, and the other the exact opposite. They cost $11.00. Thanks for everyone's help.
The Greddy adapter is a great idea but a little pricey. Perma-Cool sells a sandwich adapter that can be used like this at almost half the cost.
I didn't have the guts to tap out the threads as jimknapp suggested. If I ever have the engine torn apart, I would definitely tap it out to 1/8"NPT.
