Default when is it time to change my spark plugs?

my car just turned 30k this weekend. I changed out the trans fluid and also the diff. fluid. I check the book and it said that the spark plugs are good for 120k miles. am so confused now. In general, when is it a good idea to changed the plugs?

The plugs probably are fine until 120K miles, but you might like the performance of a colder plug. Most people have noticed improved performance in hot climates with Denso IK24s even with an otherwise stock setup.

This should not confuse you. If the book says 120K miles for the plugs, I don't think they're lying. Honda assumes that all other components are operating properly and thus, the plugs are good for that long. However, if you start to mod the car, then this goes out the window as plug wear will change once you start adding performance stuff to the engine. In this case OR, if you doubt the "book", then pull them out and inspect them. Also, you need to change your way of thinking if there is a possibility that one of those other components are NOT functioning properly (ie. coil pack).

For some reason, my European car requires spark plug changes every 90.000km which is just 60K miles.

I wonder why.

You guys also got the oiljet bolt recall which the N. American market never got. Maybe Honda thinks you guys drive the car in such a way that needs new plugs earlier. (I'm talking out my ass here. )
