When should I do my first oil change?

So you guys don't think that racing on the factory oil is going to be a problem, right?
Just be sure the oil is full before you go, and it wouldn't hurt to bring a bottle and a funnel along, in case you need some.
Most people I know who track street cars would prefer to do track days on the last of the old oil life rather than the first of the new oil life.

I disagree with most of you.... Change the oil with Dino oil BEFORE you track. The factory fill will have much more metals and containments then your normal oil change and tracking it will just recycle that breaking-in crap while running hard and not having the "best" lubrication.
I would use Dino 10w30 oil before you track and after you track, drive it for another 5000km and do another change to synthetic.
I may be anal, but I would spend the extra 20 bux.

Either way will be fine.
But, one thing about tracking... PLEASE wrench-tighten (or REALLY hand-snug down) your oil filter before going to the track. All this discussion of before/after dino/synth is moot if your engine dumps its oil (and you have a very expensive bill on your hands).
I witnessed 2 S2000s lose their engines a couple of years back at a track day because their filters spun off. One guy had low oil and damaged his as well. Sigh...

I change my oil every 3k miles. Not a good idea to wait until the "Maintenance Required Light" flashes at 7,500 miles. Your oil will be dark black at that mileage.

i rather have a oil that turn dirty after use than stay clean, it's suppose to be like that because its working.

In the Break-in Period of my manual it states...
"Do not change the oil until the scheduled maintenance time."
There is no explanation offered as to why but then this is to be expected from Honda.
I changed my oil at about 5000 miles the first time. I just could not stand it. I used a non-synthetic oil for that first change and have used synthetics after that.
If there is any oil consumption, it is too low to be measured on the stick.
My .02...I would change my oil with a non synthetic prior to tracking.
