I would also recommend that those with low mileage / short distance cars get it out on a regular basis (once a month or better yet once a week) and take it for a drive for at least 20 minutes to a half hour to thouroghly warm up the oil and evaporate the condensation that causes the acid accumulation ...

not too concerned about my warranty (still have the extended one)...
seems to take closer to an hour for me to get the change (maybe cause its lowered and it takes awhile just to get it up on jack stands), even with the fumoto valve- then have to dispose of the oil... and i agree, still not really a big deal-
i just have been getting the feeling that my oil has a lot left in it when i am draining it out (it never looks dirty at all). from the above it sounds like i have ben changing it about 3 mos early.
will let it go a year this time and will report back.
good tip to try to get the car out for longer drives as often as possible... i promise i do my best!

great ideas guys!!

For additional piece of mind do a Used Oil Analysis.
Send in a sample and see for yourself (and post results if possible ) how your engine & oil are doing.

Blackstone does UOA's all the time.

change the oil every 3 months even if you only drove 500 miles in that time.

I use Amsoil 10-30 generally change oil at 11 mos. after 3700 miles... most trips are over 50 mi. and usually go 2 weeks or more with car sleeping in garage. I dont like stop 'n go city driving so my trips are highway/country roads...
