Wheel hub welded to brake rotor?
Hi guys,
I got one of my hubs and wheel bearings replaced over the weekend and while the mechanic was working on it he noticed that the hub had either been welded to the rotor or had perhaps fused together due to the heat? Long story short he had to replace the rotor as well because of this. Has anyone ever encountered this or something similar?

It happens. You can insert 2 8mm X 1.25 pitch bolts into the threaded holes in the rotor and draw it right off.
It appears there is a melted hub-centric ring on top of the rotor, the bolt-draw method will draw both the rotor and the ring off.
