Default Wheel bearing Replaced, No ABS?

I took my S in to have one of my wheel bearing replaced because it was bad, they replaced it and then they told me my ABS light came on. They said they reset the code and the light didn't go off, and to just drive it and it should go off automatically. Now my ABS is not working, and the light is still on. What did they do wrong and what should I do to fix this problem. (I am going back in the morning to tell them they must have screwed something up but brakes aren't exactly my department, so I would like to know a little bit more about what I am talking about before I talk to them). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

They most likely messed up the ABS lead connected to the knuckle on the one they replaced the bearing.

I posted this same questionare in the "brakes and suspension" catagory, and someone said that they bearing was in backwards. Is it possible for that to be causing this issue?

It's very easy to damage the ABS lines. If they left it connected to support the weight of a control arm then it probably is broken. I did this myself during a coilover install, had to pick up a new line. When I replaced it with a new line/sensor, the ABS light went off immediately.

The bearing is symmetrical.
The only difference is the seal.
One side has a conventional rubber seal in the outer race.
The other side a thin steel plate crimped onto the inner race with a rubber seal behind it.
The rubber seal should be facing the CV, the steel plated seal should face the hub.

I don't think you can put the axle back in the hub in a (very wrong!) way so the ABS ring is not underneath the sensor.
IOW, its not the bearing.

It is the ABS sensor.
Without a doubt.
Those things are kinda fragile.
With only a little bit of rust they are stuck in the hub and if you try to pry them out with a screwdriver they get damaged.
A dead sensor with its guts spilled out looks like this:

There is about a mile (probably more) of copper wire in it.
The first time I removed one (pressed it out) it stayed in one piece but one of the rear sensors still gave me an ABS fault at high speeds, so somehow it did get damaged.
This weekend I tried ro remove them.. no luck
$185 (*) down the drain.
I would really like to talk to the mechanic that installed them on my car in 1999.
And ask him: ever heared of NeverSeez?
(sorry for the rant)
(*) for CFL Honda, 2 of them are flying to me.
For now I have to live with the ABS light.
