Default Whats your oil+condition+OCI

I went through the oil journals and read lots of posts, but forgive me its hard to digest all of it. Some of us learn by example and a small explanation, not too much science and math.

my hopes is that someone can come here and match there conditions with a post and get the answer for what oils to use.

Do not double post if someone has met your criteria unless you have something different to add. ALSO, I don't want there to be too many pages with only a couple good informational posts, lets keep the junk out of here. Try to make your post clear and dry so there wouldn't be anything left to questioning. IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS BASED ON SOMEONES SPEC'S REFER TO OIL JOURNAL FIRST!
CLICK HERE !!!: <- The Oil Journals!

Simply state:
the year of your car/ engine mods/ State you live in/ avg. temp of your area/ and what OIL's you use.
****and then any comments you have about your driving habits, RECOMMENDATIONS,anything informational that may help.

example: 2005 ap/ HKS dual carbon ti exhaust, K&N intake/ CA-SD/ 68F-80F/ 10W40/etc.. - I speed up for corners and rev match often but rarely hit vtec and cruise at 65-75mph

*if this is a horrible idea, then simply lock and delete, happy hunting.

2004 F22C1 with 63K miles. Mostly country road joy rides with VTEC engaged whether it's needed or not. Some times I let it take me for groceries, but I usually take the truck for practical tasks. Car is stock.

Engine oils that have worked well for me with zero consumption and 5K mile OCI's:

Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 (EOP) SM/GF-4
Valvoline MaxLife full synthetic 10W-30 API SL
Lubrication Engineers 9130 10W-30 CJ-4/SM
Castrol Syntec 0W-30 SL/GF-3
Castrol Edge w/Ti FST 5W-30 SN/GF-5

UOA's show very little to virtually no wear on all these oils.

Good luck with your study, or whatever this is.

2001, cai, header, test pipe, and exhaust.Live in VA so it stays temperate in the winter, hot as hell in the summer. I use dino castrol 10w30.I used to use mobil one, but it burned so quick, like 1 quart every 1000 miles. I drive pretty hard though, but since I switched to the castol, its gone down to about .5 quart every 2500 miles.

2003 AP1 w/ 150,000 miles and I been using castrol 0w-30 European formula. The 4000 miles OCI indicated everything below minimum wear. I only added 1 quart in that 4000 mlles and I VTEC 24/7!! . They said try going 6000 miles next time.

Polling really won't help you. You're not going to get the information that you need to make a decision relevant to you. You're assuming that the variables you're asking about are the most important and looking over other variables that matter.

As always, get a UOA and use that if you want definitive answers on how well your oil is performing and what your OCI's should be. You don't need "too much science and math" to interpret the results. The lab will give you a summary and recommendations.
