Default WHATS WRONG WITH MY CAR THIS TIME? UPDATED!

My damn engine light came on again and my car sounds like its pulsating/sounding kinda like a Subaru Sti from the exhaust. You know that gargling/bubbling sound? The airflow isnt coming out of my exhaust in a smooth/constant rate anymore when Im at a stop. Plus, one of my belts seems kinda loud under the hood. Kinda like a loud ticking noise as it spins. Im gonna have it checked this week. Any ideas of what this is? My car sounds soooo rough and bad right now, esp. right after my check engine light came on yesterday. Could it have anything to do with my header I just put in a couple weeks ago? I have 59K miles now.

By what you describe, it sounds like you have at least 1 cylinder misfiring completely.

Pull the code before worrying about prices of stuff. Everyone is just guessing into the wind until you do.

Misfires can be caused by several things, but most commonly it is either the injectors or the coil packs (the little black things on top of the spark plugs).

Go to Autozone/Advanced/Pepboys and have the code read and report back to us.

Both injectors and coil packs are easy to replace but will be expensive. I just did my injectors this weekend (misfire codes)...fixed the problem, but my wallet was $400 lighter.

hey man....this is the same thing everyone has with the misfire. i guarantee your codes will be either 0300, 0301, p1399, p0303, or p0304, and any combo of them. Its a fuel injector epidemic that is driving most of us with 00 and 01 s2ks crazy. My 2001 has barely modded and has less than 19k on the clock and is doing it.
After ALOT of research, im going with this thread:

Make sure they're torqued down correctly. Loose plugs can cause misfires.
