Default Whats the thing with 02-03 ecus on 00-01 cars?

As the topic says guys, I would like to know more about this to see if it is worth it getting the 02-03 ecu for my 01.
Ive noticed my car bogs once in a while, and more when is really hot outside.

I just want to know a bit more about the ecu swap.

Thanks everyone in advance.

I have a 03 and my car bogs in traffic. Given I am in Florida, from what I understand this is a common problem with trapped hot air. Some people say an intake snorkel can deliver cooler air from outside to the intake, fixing the bog problem. You might want to try that first..jmo

Very interesting the snorkel thing, sometimes this bogs drives me crazy, I have to rev higher and higher to get out of the lights when is really hot outside.

Before you spend money on ECU changes (or CAI's) you might want to try the lowest cost fix for hot air and bog.. a radmat.

Sounds real good, but looks ugly.
Should I go for the snorkel?

I am purchasing a Spoon snorkel from somebody on S2ki. If you want something that looks good under the hood and has fuctonality, yet keeping all the factory parts, go for the snorkel. There is a lot of information on this website on snorkels and their installations.

I test drove an 05 s2k and it didnt do it. The car felt slower than mine, and the 8k red line is just boring, the gearing is so short that I couldnt enjoy the ride.

the general reason 00-01 owners like to put on the 02-03 ECU is it runs a bit leaner up top, giving it a little more power and pull above 6000rpm.

or the even lower cost option of tightening the slack on the throttle cable, this actually removed 90% of any bogging i was experiencing from a stop.
