I am swapping my transmission fluid with GM synchromesh friction modified. I am using a clear tube taped on to the top of the bottle to squeeze it in. Everything was going fine until I started to see some gunk coming out of the bottle. It looks like some sort of film that might have collected on the bottom, and is now being transfered into the tranny. Is this normal? should I drain it back out and get new? thanks
edit: its translucent, but not completely clear like the oil.

It is known (at least to some) that virtually all oils and gear lubes will settle out (additives) on the shelf. Road Rage has posted about this and has recommended that, like liquid medicines, all oil containers be stored upside down and then shaken vigorously before being poured into the vehicle.

ok I will shake it up and keep going.. I don't think much of the settlement made it in, but I assume it would get mixed up by the gears if it did.

The problem now is that it's always tough to get that last bit out of the bottle. Stick the tube into the tranny fill (below fluid level), squeeze the bottle (standing upright) and suck some fluid back out, then shake it and squeeze it back in.
