Just changed mine for the first time at 18,000 miles. It was basically clear with a gray tint. The stuff on the magnetic plug was the consistency of fine mud - no shavings or chips.

I take it pretty easy. No launches (well, one clutch-stinker), don't VTEC every day, but do have one good track day on the car.

Yes that's what the OEM fluid will look like even after a short while(1-3k miles).

It says you have a 2000 model...how many miles are on your car?

What fluid did you end up changing it with?

Here is the OEM fluid that came out of an '04 diff with only a few thousand KMs on it. The clean stuff is Mobil 1 75W90.

wow, thanks for the fast reply.
i actually have a 04 model.
i wasn't paying attention while registering for my account. ^^
i changed the oil after 16000 miles.
and i ended up with LE 607 since that's what xviper and RR recommanded in other threads.
funny thing, i couldn't V-tech after i got the differential oil change.
i heard a lot of exhaust noise but i did not feel the V-tech kick at all.
wasn't sure if it's related.

and hell ya that's the color of my oem differential oil looked like after 16000 miles.
thanks once again. i felt much more comfortable now. ^^
