a strut bar is just bling bling as it will not tighen the suspension - get an x-brace first -

i used Muz's on mine but spoon makes a nice one as does comptech

Under the airbox is a large reinforcing bar already. It is way bigger and way stiffer than any strut bar could ever be. Mugen doesn't make a front strut bar for an S 2000. That's because its not needed. All the other companies that do just want your money. If you want bling, I would suggest Cusco titanium or Opak Racing titanium. I happen to like the Opak bar a little more.

While many people seem to emphatically tell you that an STB will do nothing...I would have to speculate (quess) that after adding all the other braces, the STB does make some difference, possibly at extreme handling conditions...It seems quite odd that the 2004 Spoon Sports cars are still running them if they don't do anything!

Spoon is also actively selling performance products for street tuners. It's nice to have parts on a race car that may or may not do anything on a race car....and definitely doesn't do anything on street car.

The handling performance improvement offered by a strut tower brace on the S2K is a direct function of the bace's finish. Bright colors, exotic metals (such as titanium), or polished chrome tend to offer the greatest performance gains. Such a brace is definitely well worth the extra investment in my opinion. The car will run even faster if you leave the hood open, but that's hard on the hinges.

Remember, the 2004 is already more soutly braced - and I am not sure my x-brace did much - certainly a strut bar is bling-bling.

While extra bracing down low is cool, I worry a bit about what would happen to a strut bar in a front end collision at high speed? - if it were to shear off and be propelled through the windshield, might be very unpleasant. Bling-bling could become whang-bang.
