^hey man, jus wondering wut noisy lifters sound like. I have a sound i was trying to diagnose with my mech and he said it sounded like it could be a noisy lifter. But he wasnt sure if the s2k had solid lifters or something like that. Can u help me out?

^well yea the sound i have is a ticking tapping type sound. I can hear it from inside the car when driving, it gets louder as the rpms increase. It seems like it gets louder the warmer the engine is too..I kno the f20 is a loud motor, i actually drive my friends s2k yesterday to see if i heard anything like it and i could BARELY hear the same sound but just barely, mine is MUCH louder.

i didnt think of that... thanks allot. its nice to get an educated response. next deployment there will be no starting every week. BTW 20 minutes after pulling it out of storage it got a mobil 1 synthetic oil change and new filter- first place i went. Thanks for the tips! (there should be no permanet harm to my motor should their?)
Beyond that, I think the only real casualties were your spark plugs and that's an easy one to fix!
