Is there a test you can do to see if the clutch is slipping?

As long as you can slow your car down by letting off the gas, you know the clutch is still grabbing. That's what does it for me anyway.

edit: what makes you think your clutch is slipping anyway?

Well when I smash the gas the rpms dont match the acceleration. Rpms get up faster then the car is accelerating.

Go uphill (the steeper the better) at low revs (2k) on the freeway in 5th gear. Floor it to maximize the load on the engine. If the clutch is slipping, it will show then.

Why don't you try down shifting into 2nd at 35Mph and letting off the gas to see how hard it slows you down.

from dead stop, put it into 5th and try to drive. If it stalls, clutch is fine. if not, need new clutch.

Try to launch from any rpm - feather or clutch dump... doesn't matter.

If you're like me, you won't go anywhere and the cabin will start to really stink!

Thats not because the clutch is slipping, its because you don't know how to launch and you're burning the clutch.......you can even get that smell with a new clutch..........Try to do what they say about going up hill and put it on a higher Gear and check the RPMs to match your speed....
