What should I do when I get my s2k (checked on, maintenance , etc)
I just got my 06 s2k. I was hoping to find more knowledge about what to do. Like should I get it checked out by a Honda dealership. What should I check to see if it's in good condition. Or what should I tell the dealership. I just want to make sure I didn't get a lemon and that my s2k is in good shape before I decide to take it on a long road trip. Any suggestions please.

Do some reading here and check the DIY sections. What I did when I purchased my ’00:
Oil (switched from dino to Castrol Edge)
Diff fluid
Trans fluid
Greased shifter
New soft top straps (Modifry)
Checked air filter (mine was good)
Adjust clutch play
Cabin air filter
This summer I will check/adjust the valves and replace the plugs.
I’m sure others can add things I forgot.
A dealer is going to charge hundreds to do all of this. After talking to my local dealer, I really don’t trust their knowledge of the s2k. Honda’s maintenance schedule for the s2k isn’t all that different than any other car. Most of us don’t drive our cars the same way a soccer mom drives her Odyssey; our fluids most likely break down sooner.
I had to get some tools, a new jack, and some jack stands. But even with that, I’m way ahead. I haven’t done much wrenching before this car, but with the help of this site everything has been smooth and easy.

Thanks for the help bro. I'll keep it posted.
