Default What is this part that is broken? (pic inside)

I was under the car at the weekend changing the diff and gearbox fluid and giving the engine a service having not long got my S2000 with no history, everything looked ok apart from one of the rear anti roll bar drop links being knackered. But i noticed this item which i assume should be attached to each other. It was on the left hand side rear lower wishbone. I presume its some kind of headlight level sensor. Can anyone confirm what it is and the part number for this connecting rod on its own if it is supplied separate.

Thanks

Learn something new every day. That's something you won't see on any S2000 over here in the USA. Definitely a ride height sensor for a system you have in the UK that we don't.

its a connecting rod thats bolted to the wishbone, then connects to a small black electrical box which has wires coming out of it and its sprung where it connects to the rod so it can spin, that's why I was thinking maybe a sensor for self levelling headlights as there is no headlight height adjustment switch in the car (that I can see)

Its not a great picture, i'll try and get a better picture soon when I go to fit my new RARB drop links

PS its a year 2000 S2000.

That is indeed the sensor for the headlights. In the UK if you have HID/xenon headlights then it must have a self levelling sensor.
