What oil to use on my new block?
My situation is kind of unique, so I wasn't really able to find anything else out there on the site specific to my issue.
Honda is replacing my short block under warranty and I'm going to go 750 miles without VTEC, but I'm wondering what oil I should use. I doubt my Honda dealership is going to fill it up with the break-in oil, considering you can't even get it from the dealer. I've been poking around, and it looks like the factory fill is some kind of high Moly content oil, so the recommendation is Valvoline MaxLife for break-in oil changes. Right now the rest of my engine has 32k miles on it and I just changed the oil out with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic a couple hundred miles ago. I'm not sure this is the best thing to go with on the new block. Should I go ahead and put in Valvoline MaxLife for the break-in period or just leave the Mobil 1 in there? Is this going to have an adverse affect on the other components? I can't imagine it would, but I'm just trying to be overly careful since I don't want to cause more problems down the road.

Add a can of MaxLife Engine protector - it has almost exactly the chemistry of the break-in oil - I posted on this several times, and it should be in the "Oil Journals" stickies up above.
I will use LE 8130 when i get enough miles on my car - 1800 since December - too much rain here.
