What negative effect will heat tape wrapping
I'll admit I'm an idiot went it comes to Engine Management.
AP-1 Stock = Rich or lean?
AP-1 w/ testpipe = More or less rich or lean?
AP-1 w/ testpipe and a wrapped OEM header = More or less rich or lean?
..........and I'll assume everything from the cat / t/p back will have little effect on how the engine runs.

Heres what I know....
Stock = Essentiall Stichometric (sp?)
w/ testpipe = Lean
w/ testpipe and a wrapped OEM header = Lean? I cant see the wrap doing anything for mixture... Actually im 90% it wont affect it, but hey... I could be wrong.

I retreat......
The heat wrapping may do the following....
There is more heat contained into the pipe, giving a higher temp, and possibly causing a lean reading at the O2 sensor, as in the above picture. The O2 would then indicate to the engine that it is running too hot, therefore increasing mixture to match Stichometric.
Need more ppl to chime in on this one. I really dont think it will change anything (heat tape wrapping).

Well considering that is my header that i wrapped and took pics if i guess this involves me too....I do have a plx m300 wideband sitting in the garage i could hook up and let everyone know how it runs...i mean after i did the header wrap the car didnt feel any differant. But then again it prolly wouldnt due to the lean/rich conditions not being that extreme. Would people benefit if i hook it up and take some reading? Ill do it to better support the s2ki community....considering im still kinda a noob and want to make a GOOD name for myself. Although it would have to wait till better weather cuz im not driving the s2k insalt/snow that we have alot of right now in illinois!

yea i definatly wont take it off to get a reading...considering it took me the better side of 4 hours to complete and make look good. If i come across a stock header i would be more then happy to switch out and test.

I have an AP1 and have my header wrapped. I have had no ill effect from wrapping the header. I have had a wide band o2 set up on the car no less than three times. It showed no abnormal rich or lean A/F readings.
