What mechanical components prevent 04 s2k from reving to 9k

... and here is how the F22C would look like at 9k rpm.

BTW, at TDC the piston is subject to accelerations of over 5000g. Some trivia.

Another observation: The rod to stroke ratio on the F20C is almost motorcycle like: 1.81. No surprise it can rev so high.

Phoenix9999 i know that porsche used Ti con rods in some of it's engines (GT3), and i guess that if honda really wanted to do produce them they could, but Ti is hard to work with and I would guess it would cost at least 1k a set, espically becuase we're not talking about a huge run..(some limited edition F22).
True... except... that "limited edition" run is probably at least 6,000 engines per year, plus spares, times several years, times all those rods you need. Say four years and I don't see we wouldn't be talking about 100,000 rods total. I'd imagine that could put a dent in the cost. Depending.

I thought the NSX engine used Ti rods.
