Default What is going on with my ride height?

I am completely dumbfounded and i need some help. I baught my s2k a few months back from an insuranse auction where the passenger front suspension was shredded because the car hit a curb/pole. The frame was NOT damaged but i had to replace the entire pass. front suspension ( i.e. control arms, strut, and sway link). Now its all together and i should be happily on the road except that side of the car sits a full inch heigher than the other side???? Ive jacked it up and stared at it for a couple hours and am totally dumbfounded. Even if i disconnect the two shocks from the Lower control arm it still hangs an inch lower on that one side..i cant imagine there being anything else affecting ride height other than hte struts??? Is this just a matter of me needing to drive on it for a while because this replaced strut was not worn evenly with the other three??? I still havnt replaced the sway bar link on that side but that shouldnt effect ride height should it?? THANKS GUYS FOR ANY HELP, as i said i am utterly dumbfounded...

Sure there isn't anything remaining that was bent from the accident? Some things are difficult to see damage unless they're removed.

Think maybe the car had lowering springs before it was wrecked?

was the suspension preloaded before tightening the control arm to body bolts, this may have something to do with it.

This may be a big part of your problem. Do a search on preloading, attempt to do it and then report back on your results.

Every time i do a search it seems preloading only pertains to atvs and dirt bikes..i understand what preloading does but this new (but used) strut i got was never taken apart so the spring shouldnt have to be compressed (preloaded), am i right??
