What exploded underneath my car? (Pics)

Now for the fix:

Take it to a machine shop. use a grease needle, and pump some grease through that slit.

Mig it shut, and you're all set.

Can you use PB blaster + impact driver to get those bolts loose? If not Billman250's idea sounds pretty good.

Im trying to get the driveshaft my ap1 as we speak and the bolts are seized on, any reccomendations on how to break these ####ers loose?

im using a 6mm hex socket w/ a universal joint and its not even budging

spray liberally PB blaster and let it sit for awhile then try cranking on it.

Billman,

Wouldent you have to take the driveshaft to a shop and get it rebalanced after the welding or would you be ok just leaving it?

You'd be welding on the material that was removed. No need to rebalance unless you have a giant booger weld.

sideways is right, hit whatever your using (hex key on wrench or vise grips) with a hammer or rubber mallet and they come off without stripping!

Easier said than done. I tried this before I fired up the grinder. I attached a 2 foot lead pipe onto the end of the hex key and banged on it like crazy with a rubber mallet. I only managed to get off 2 of the 6 bolts.
