"slammed" hehe. It's easier if you can picture the rear suspension geometry in your head. It sways about a pivot point in the pattern of an arc. At normal suspension height, the axle wont see full extension and full suspension compression. But when the car is lowered, the suspension sees near full compression and the axles are "stretched." This induces added wear and tear on the CV joints. The right way of fixing this is replacing your axles with lengthened ones, not using spacers.
