I have heard that our s2000s will be "notchy" in the cold going from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. Well Firstly, how cold is cold, because I will feel it being "notchy" unless its about 80 degrees F. Also it feels like a single grind, and the one from 2 to 3 is evident more often, no matter the temperature. I changed my tranny fluid about 4 months ago and they said there wasnt anything in the fluid, so im not sure whether I should be worried or not? This will not occur if i go from first gear, then clutch then neutral then let off the clutch pedal, then back on the clutch then shift to 2...
Also, my tranny is usually more notchy upon a cold start (temp gauge) and I find that once the car warms up, the notchiness goes about 90% away.

On mine there's a resistance going into 2nd.. at times when you shift quickly it will grind. More noticeable when cold, and diminishes (not completely) when the car has been running 5+ mins.

yea mine is worse, if the temperature outside is 80 or above it will not happen AS MUCH, but still happens, when it is even 70 the 1st to 2nd gear will go away, but the 2nd to 3rd will stay 50% of the time, i can shift it into the upper right hand area of the 3rd gear slot while shifting and it will be prob. 20% of the time then. but sometimes it is perfect, when the outdor temp is very hot
