What to do with a slashed soft top?

If you have to go the duct tape route, don't get plain duct tape.
Get Gorilla Tape. That stuff sticks so much that it feels like it's trying to pull the skin off your fingertips when you're trying to pull a strip off the roll.
If there's any brand of tape that's going to really stick, that'll be the one.

Speaking from recent experience - iron on patches don't work. Duct tape doesn't work. Sail repair tape doesn't work (but sticks the best). Someone suggested finding an upholstery repair shop and asking them to sew on a patch. I'm going to try that this week - but my tear is only an inch long.

i was wondering the same thing. i have about a 1/2 rip on the drivers side that is slowly getting bigger and dont want to drop a large amount for a new top at the moment.

I am having my drivers seat leather bolster replaced due to normal wear. The guy doing it is the best in this area and that is where I would take my top for a repair like this. I'm guessing he would be around $100 based on the price he is charging for my seat. Good luck, sorry for to hear about this.
