Default What do I do from here?

I'm holding the normal one, the other is in pieces next to it. Any suggestions on where to go from here? It blew up on the highway just before I got home. Made it home but probably tore up the cylinder.

Why did I have a feeling you guys were gonna say that... Who's taken off the head before? Any pointers? I changed out my clutch before so not having to drop the subframe is a plus.

if i were you, i prob will go pick up used coilpack first (cheaper than buying new and you know you need it anyway). But where is plugs? still good shape?

maybe the plug in the spark plug well is still in once piece, did you look in there if you can get the rest of it out ?. The spakplug may not have fallen into the engine block unless it was blown to smitherines. Everything still looks dry. Get a vacuum or compressed air and blow the spark plug well clean, pull out as much parts as you can with a screwdriver or one of those clamping pick-up tools, and see if the plug can be removed with a plug socket once you get the area clean around it. You might be able to get away with just a coil back if the bottom of the plug is still in tact. Just trying to provide a positive outlook.

120k on the body and 80k on the new motor i just got 2 years ago. The plug is in the motor, its covered by the bottom part of the coil pack. It looks very bent in that one. Its number 3 away from the firewall

Don't panic just yet. Try to dig out all the pieces of the coil pack first. Once you feel it is clean enough, pull the spark plug. Be aware that anything left in the spark plug hole will fall in once you pull the plug. Check back with us when you can confirm your plug still has an electrode and it isn't damaged below the headgasket.

Well the coil pack disappeared... I got to the plug and it tugged right out. I put in a new plug and the threads on the head are still ok some how. It screwed in like normal. I'm gonna get a magnet and pull out the tip of the plug that blew off inside the cylinder, get a new coil pack and plug and hopefully be ok.ill keep you posted. I took of the valve cover and the head looks ok.
