If it never recodes they won't have a explaination.

Here's my best explaination: Sometimes cars get a little bitchy.

should this be something to be alarmed about if the check engine code for this pops up?

The CKP sensor's used to determine if the engine's mis-firing. It bolts to the right lower side of the timing case. It's a sensor that detects a wheel that's attached to the crank.

I'd guess "intermittent" means it's not always getting the signal. Could be the sensor or the wiring. I'd get a shop manual and follow the procedure. 00-03 don't have that particular code. P0336 is the code on an 00-03.

If you really are reading P0339, I'd make sure that the 2005 even has that code. If it doesn't, it means you didn't read it right.

i want to just take it to the dealership, but do you know if this has anything related to my s/c being installed on my car? if not i can try to get it replaced under warranty.

i dont know if he may have gave me the right code. but that's what the mechainc gave me at the dealership.

Hmm well, since the sensor's right there on the front of the motor it MIGHT have something to do with it. It depends on whether someone screwed up the sensor or wire when you installed the SC.

The SC requires a different crank pulley doesn't it? They may have F'd up the sensor while switching the crank pulley. I'd go back to whoever installed it.

I'd think twice about letting the dealer see a SC in my '2k. I can't think of a faster way to get a claim denial. As far as I'm concerned, you've just given away your engine warranty. If I was a dealer, I wouldn't touch your engine.

The CKP reluctor is well behind the chain case. It's highly unlikely the crank pulley is causing this. If you are using a Vortech the timing controller splices into the CKP sensor.

Lets keep all of your car's problems on 1 thread OK?
